Frequently asked questions

Get answers to the most frequently asked questions from customers

How is Scarex gel applied?

Apply twice a day, morning and evening, for at least 12-16 weeks. Apply a small amount of gel to a well-cleaned and dried scar. Wait 5-7 minutes for it to dry completely.

What scars is Scarex gel suitable for?

Scarex is a silicone gel for softening and smoothing hypertrophic scars (raised scars) and keloids, resulting from trauma, surgical interventions, burns.

From what age can Scarex gel be used in children?

There are no age restrictions - it is suitable for both babies over 3 months and adults. It is important that the wound is not weeping, i.e. there is no secretions or blood.

How long do I need to use Scarex gel to see results?

To have a visible effect of smoothing and softening the scar, prolonged use is necessary - at least 3 months. With new scars, the results are faster, since Scarex gel supports proper healing of the skin and from there the formation of a more inconspicuous and even scar.

How quickly does Scarex gel dry?

Scarex gel is applied in a thin layer to the skin and should dry within 5-7 minutes.

Can I use it for acne scars?

Not recommended. Acne scars are sunken (atrophic) – they resemble small indentations in the skin, and Scarex gel is intended for raised (hypertrophic) scars. If you have acne scars and no longer have active breakouts, you can try our special routine with Pure Skin Exfoliating Toner and Acne Out Repairing Cream SPF 30+.

Can I use Scarex gel for a burn scar?

Yes, Scarex gel can be used on burn scars, but only after the skin has fully healed.

Can scar gel be used immediately after a cesarean section?

Scarex gel can be used on any type of postoperative scar. 24 hours after the stitches are removed (around the 7th day of surgery), you can start using the gel.

Can I use Scarex gel while breastfeeding and is it safe?

Yes, it is safe, as the gel is only applied to the skin and there is no systemic absorption. However, it should not be applied to the area around and on the nipples, so that the baby does not swallow it.

Can I use Scarex gel for facial scars?

Yes, you can. Scarex gel is effective for external scars on the body and face, but should not be applied to mucous membranes and in direct contact with the eyes.

Does the redness of the scar decrease with the use of the gel?

Scarex gel reduces redness and soothes the skin, thanks to the formula containing panthenol and vitamin E.

When after surgery can scar treatment with Scarex gel begin?

The application of the product can begin at the earliest 24 hours after removing the stitches and provided that the wound is not weeping, has no secretions or blood.

Will my scar disappear completely with Scarex gel?

Scarex gel is designed to improve the cosmetic and physiological appearance of the scar by smoothing, leveling and softening it. It, like all other scar products on the market, cannot guarantee complete scar removal, but it can significantly improve its appearance.

My scar is itchy and tight, can I use Scarex gel?

Yes, because Scarex gel relieves skin discomfort that occurs during skin healing and scar formation.

Can I apply makeup over Scarex gel?

You can, but before applying makeup, make sure the gel is completely dry.
