FAQ
Can I use Pure Skin Tonic in the daytime?
Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic’s formula contains cosmetic acids that make the skin photosensitive. Therefore, we do recommend using that product only in the evenings – whereas in the daytime a reliable sunscreen with the highest possible SPF is a must.
Can I use Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic for acne scars?
Yes, Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic is very suitable for the post-acne period when inflammation is gone and pimples are healed. The tonic’s active ingredients remove dead cells from the outermost skin layer and thus gradually improve complexion, reducing the red acne marks and residual light acne scars.
What acids does Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic contain?
Pure Skin tonic contains AHA (alpha hydroxy acid – Glycolic), BHA (beta hydroxy acid – Salicylic), as well as Azelaic acid. These three combined are to accelerate the exfoliation of dead cells from the outermost skin layer, even the complexion, and visibly improve skin appearance.
How appropriate is using Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic in the summer?
In essence, Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic is a delicate chemical peeling that is safe for home use – still, as such, it does cause photosensitivity and increases your chances of skin damage from UV exposure. For this reason, it is strongly recommended to strictly apply sunscreen with the highest sun protection factor (SPF50 +) during the day, especially in the summertime.
*Of note: for optimal protection apply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours when spending time outdoors.
I have acne - can I still use Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic?
If you currently have an active acne condition – pimples or sores – using Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic is not recommended.
Can I combine Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic with Melabel Whitening Tonic for hyperpigmentations?
We recommend this routine for oily skin with hyperpigmentations but advise on alternating these two products every other evening, and never use them simultaneously at the same time. Make sure that you strictly apply reliable broad-spectrum sunscreen in the daytime.
Is Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic suitable for whiteheads - tiny white grain-like bumps?
Yes, Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic is great for such a skin concern. These whiteheads, also known as “closed comedones” are quite common and the reason for having those usually lies in using many or/and inappropriate skincare products, as well as insufficiently good skin cleansing. The tonic’s acids cause the outermost skin layer of dead cells to peel off, thus gradually reducing and clearing whiteheads’ buildup.
Is Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic suitable for dry skin?
Yes, Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic is suitable for dry skin too. It’s important to distinguish the peeling effect of the acids from simply drying out the skin! Although both conditions are manifested by skin’s flaking and tightness, the chemical peeling performed by the acids is actually beneficial for the skin as it removes the dead cells from the outermost layers, and reveals smooth and youthful new skin.
To make good use of the tonic, make sure you don’t rinse off the face and respect at least 30-40 minutes break before applying rich moisturizing and nourishing cream.
Can I use Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic after shaving?
Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic contains cosmetic acids and is to be applied only to healthy and calm skin. It is not appropriate to use it after shaving/epilation as it might potentially irritate the treated area. For aftershave and preventing ingrown hairs, we rather recommend Acnaut Active Lotion.
How suitable is Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic for pregnant ladies?
Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic, as well as the other products of that range, are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, we advise on using the tonic cautiously in these periods as the body experience severe hormonal changes which also affect the skin. It’s quite common that women notice their skin getting more sensitive during the pregnancy and after giving birth – so, watch how skin tolerates the tonic and decide accordingly.
Also, if using the tonic, never forget to sunscreen properly during the day – that would prevent hyperpigmentations and skin damage from unprotected UV exposure.
Does Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic smooth wrinkles?
It is known that regular exfoliation is the best prevention against premature aging and wrinkles. The combination of active ingredients in Pure Skin tonic – azelaic, glycolic, and salicylic acid, works great for dull skin with fine lines. Long-run use improves skin hydration and turnover and positively impacts the natural process of collagen and elastin production.
Is it normal to have a burning, stinging, or itching sensation when using Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic?
Yes, acids may trigger such sensation but that effect is not a reason for concern and it usually disappears after no more than 5 to 10 minutes. It is possible that in the course of the therapy the skin “learns” to not react to the acids and the described discomfort fades away. Even so, that does not mean the product “stopped working”.
Is it mandatory to sunscreen when using Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic?
Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic causes photosensitivity. It means that the newly revealed skin is more vulnerable to sunlight – and that poses a higher risk of developing hyperpigmentations or getting damage from UV exposure. That’s the reason why we always recommend protecting the skin by using a reliable broad-spectrum sunscreen with the highest possible SPF. Moreover, don’t forget to apply that one every 2 to 3 hours, as well as after sweating, washing, or wiping.
Is Pure Skin an anti-age product line?
Pure Skin is a complex therapy for skin revitalization and despite not being considered as a regular anti-age series, it does demonstrate certain visible results against skin aging.

Should your skin be dry, wait like 30 to 40 minutes after applying the tonic, and then follow with an intensively nourishing and moisturizing product – fluid, serum, or cream.
Can I use Pure Skin Exfoliating Tonic for cleansing?
No, that product is a chemical peeling – an exfoliating agent. It is not a cleanser; hence it should not be applied before the skin to be duly cleansed with a proper product and water.
